The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series that has been developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH, since 1986. The original model was available as a coupé, with a convertible added shortly afterward. Since 2014, the M3 has been entirely a saloon, as the coupé and convertible models have been rebranded as the 4 Series, with the high-performance variant being the M4. Currently in its fourth generation, the BMW M3 is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged in-line six-cylinder engine. The engine produces 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque.
