The Toyota 4Runner is a mid-size SUV that has been in production since 1984. It was known as the Toyota Hilux Surf in Japan but was discontinued in 2009. Originally a compact SUV and little more than a Toyota Hilux pickup, the 4Runner has undergone significant development to become a cross between a compact and a mid-size SUV. It is based on a body-on-frame design that makes it a serious off-roader. It is powered by a 4.0-litre 1GR-FE V6 engine.
