The Toyota Kluger, also known as the Toyota Highlander in other markets, is a popular midsize crossover SUV manufactured by Toyota. It is the crossover version of the company's more rugged, truck-based midsize 4Runner, and was Toyota's best-selling SUV until surpassed by the smaller RAV4 in 2006. The name Kluger is derived from the German word klug, meaning clever or smart. It is popular in Kenya for its high-tech features, agile handling, and exceptional fuel efficiency. Its competitors include the Mazda CX-9, Nissan Pathfinder, Honda Pilot, Chevrolet Traverse, Dodge Durango, Volkswagen Atlas, Hyundai Palisade, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Subaru Ascent.
